Check tyre make, size, tread and production date on every corner. Uneven wear can have several causes, so ask the inspector to consider alignment, suspension and previous use together rather than treating one visual clue as a diagnosis.
Inspect the cabin and mechanical systems
Operate the seats, cameras, climate control, screens, lighting and other equipment that matters to you. Cabin wear should be considered alongside age, recorded mileage and use; it is one part of the picture rather than proof by itself.
A qualified specialist should assess diagnostics, fluids, leaks, cooling, brakes, suspension and the underside using suitable equipment. Ask for written findings that separate present faults, normal wear and preventative work that may be due later.
Use the drive to verify, then pause
If permission and insurance arrangements allow, include low-speed manoeuvres, an ordinary urban surface and a steady open-road section. Pay attention to starting, steering, braking, shifting, temperatures and warning messages without attempting to test the car's limits.
